Christmas 2012

I'm way behind on our family blog. I can't believe it is March already! Yikes...where did time go?
So, this blog post is just a catch up to document Christmas.

We did decorate stockings. It's our Christmas tradition to have our kids decorate their stockings with paint and glitter. We usually buy regular size stockings, but this year, the dollar store only had the HUGE stockings left.  The kids thought the HUGE stockings were pretty awesome.

 Jake created a football stocking, Cameron a Black Jack, and Caroline a candy land stocking.

A few random shots of our Christmas morning.  Caroline was super psyched that Santa brought her another American Girl Doll, Kit Kittredge.

1st day back

This is what WE did after WE sent the boys off to school....

chalk, paint, and a wall

Just in case you were wondering, we now have a chalkboard wall in our kitchen.  I love it. The kids love it. Dusty, well, I hope he loves it.  It serves as a creative wall for the kids to draw, plan meals, chore chart, and random quotes.
I think it ROCKS and highly recommend one in your house!

10!

Cameron welcomed double digits on the 15th! I can't believe he is 10! We celebrated by having a few of his closest friends over and having pizza and cake. Cameron's big gift (and only gift-ha!) from us was an IPAD. We got lucky and scored a new edition and couldn't pass it up. He has spent hours on it, mostly photo booth,taking hilarious pictures of his friends, family, and pug dog. I thought I would post a few of him for a good laugh....

the new crib

Well, here it is. Our new house.
We absolutely LOVE it!!!!
The neighborhood is wonderful, the school rocks, and our new house fits our family just perfectly.
After being outbidded on 3 other houses, we decided to take a step back and review what our family really needed. When our house hunt first began we had a list of our likes and dislikes. However, somehow in the process of bidding wars it became clear to us that we needed to up the ante and increase our house budget. The buyers market is a dog eat dog world and apparently the Youngblood's were wearing milk-bone underwear. (Comment if you know where that saying came from). Any-Who, we feel like we scored a gem of a house. It's well within our budget (So,I get to keep being fiscally irresponsible :-) lol) and our neighbors couldn't be any more awesome. I feel like we live in a time warp neighborhood from the 80's. The kids take off on their bikes and we don't see them for hours on end. They call to check in from their friends house, who has an I-phone (are you kidding me??), and we feel completely safe with them roaming the neighborhood. Needless to say, we feel like we really made a great decision. We definitely could have gone for a bigger, better, big-baller house, but after seeing this one, we fell in love and it just felt right. So far, our intuitions have proved correct. We couldn't be happier and we get so tickled just getting out of bed in the mornings, thinking about our next home improvement project.

A full grown tree was on our MUST HAVE list.  We got it, plus one in the backyard.  I get tickled every time I mow the yard, walk outside in the morning, and drive up in the drive way.  It probably is a silly request, but our old neighborhood lacked trees.  In fact, our last house had zero trees. This is my beauty.

We are digging the Kroger's by our new house. Especially, Cee Cee....

She loves that she can get her own grocery cart and load up on her favorite treats. I wish I would have taken a before and after picture of her grocery cart. It was packed FULL of food.

dream BiG

During Spring Break, we went out for lunch with some friends. During lunch, all the kids received balloons (Ugh! Balloons bug me...especially, when given before the meal arrives and then they become weapons). Well, before I could break the news to Caroline that we would have to pop it when we left,she surprised me by telling me she wanted to make a wish and send it off to her MiMi in Utah.
So, that's what we did. She went home and colored it, made a wish, and set it free.
What was her wish??? Of course, a 4 year old will tell you! Caroline wished that her MiMi would buy her a REAL HORSE!!!! (How's that MiMi?-Ha!)When Caroline wishes, she wishes BIG!!!
