A.J. Foyt

Last week, we attended the Big 6 Parade and Wax Museum. All the 4th graders, had to do research about a famous person from Texas, write a paper, prepare a timeline, make up character cards to pass out (like, business cards), and prepare a costume about their famous person. Cameron, picked A.J. Foyt to document. We looked everywhere for a race car costume, but couldn't find one. So, we ended up buying one on Amazon for him. Good thing this costume can be passed down to Jake and used for a future Halloween costume. The wax museum was pretty cool. Each student had an orange sticker on their hand and when someone pressed the orange sticker the student would tell about their character and then hand out a character information card.

hanging out with MiMi & Aunt Candy

Just a few pictures (okay, maybe like 23 pictures) of MiMi & Aunt Candy's trip here to Houston.
MiMi & Aunt Candy planned a "gag gift" game for the kiddos and they absolutely loved it!
We had a fun afternoon grillin, chillin, swimming, & snoozing.

Why my Mom Should Win the Prize....

Awww....my sweet Cameron.  He cracks me up.  Apparently, all of the 4th graders wrote stories about their moms in hopes of winning a gift card to a local steakhouse. I had to laugh when Cameron showed me his letter on why his mom should win. I'm telling you, this kid is such a HOOT! After reading the story, I asked him why he made us sound so "poor" or "in need of money"?
Cameron's response was, "you gotta do it like that, so you can win MOM!!"
Here is his paper (grammar & all)
Why my Mom Should Win the Prize...
I would want my mom to win because she is super nice. She is super pretty.  She works hard to take care of me. We don't have a lot of money but we can hold on.  She always trys, trys, and trys, and trys to take a lot of care of all of us.  She works and works, works and works for us. She told us every morning she wakes up and she thinks what can I do to help us and I hope we have a good day.  She never gives up. She buys us food to keep us healthy and alive.  I'm trying to do a lot of stuff to make money for us. We are all trying to chip in to help and we all really love her so that's why I would want my mom to win the prize and I hope it's something that will keep us healthy and alive

This picture is from last year, but I don't think I ever posted it on the blog.
4 generations: Caroline, Me, my Mom, and my Grandma, Cathy. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! I've been blessed with a wonderful husband and three adorable kiddos.
Life is good.
This picture of the kiddos is an oldie, but one of my favorites!

Mother's Day for MiMi

Today, as I was going through my picture file looking for pictures to post about Mother's Day, I ran across this. How stinking cute is this!!??!?!? Jake and Caroline were so little and precious! Geez, did my heart melt with gladness. Then I realized it was a video with a shout out to MiMi. How perfect when thinking about Mother's Day. So, MiMi...this one is for you. We enjoyed your visit here this past week and sorry if it was a little crazy. We all made some memories and I am sure Abbi will always remember you taking her driving!!! :) We love you and look forward to when we can vacation on a sunny island with waves crashing in the background sipping on some Diet Dr. Pepper. We love you and miss you greatly! Enjoy and make sure you pause the music on the side and turn up the volume on the video.
