Astros vs. St. Louis Cardinals

A couple of Saturdays ago we ventured out and took all 3 kids to an Astros game. We had a great time and learned some valuable tips for our future travels....

-Never buy expensive up-close tickets (like we did last year). Kids are always better when you sit in the nosebleed section.

-When sitting in the nosebleed section, make sure you bring your oxygen tank for the stair climb.

-Also, make sure you bring your portable AC unit. AC ventilation is not adequate up there.

-Eat before you go to the game. Our kids pick was Chili's, so we splurged on slushees and chips before the game.

All this queen needed was a hot pink monkey and a bag of cotton candy...

He turned 8

Cameron didn't have a traditional birthday party this year. Instead, we hung out as a family and made his birthday a mini stay-cation.
The day before his birthday we had breakfast at Luby's with his grandma and cousins. Cameron has a thing for buffet style breakfast.



A cookie cake is always better after breakfast!

The next day, his official birthday, we went to the Children's Museum, the Cheesecake Factory, & stayed the night at the Hyatt in the Galleria. Cameron also has a thing for staying in hotels.











Cameron really prefers you don't sing to him out in public...


At the hotel he opened his gifts. His big gift was a camera. Cameron loves to take pictures. We also decided to let him start a private blog to help him with his reading & writing skills.




The next day we headed to another hotel in Columbus and went to Splashway in Sheridan. We had a blast! It's small, cheaper than most water parks, and it's kid friendly for our size kiddos.



It was a long 3 days of celebrating but, I can't think of a better way to celebrate...especially when turning 8.
